SHARES AND INTERACTIONS IN FOCUS GROUPS - SOME CONSIDERATIONS ON DATA ANALYSIS

Abstract

The discussion about the analysis of data from focus groups is the aim of this essay. It tried to present some indications to the development of qualitative research technique and guidelines for the collection and analysis of the interactions in group interviews, considering that it are related to subjective questions, such as tone of voice, the intensity and extent of the contributions of the participants, as well as individual and collective judgments about the phenomena in study. Thus, the analysis of the data groups must follow different guidelines of the analysis of individual interviews, looking for valuing subjectivity and social interactions, motivated by the collective symbols.
