Abstract

Over the next five years Brazil will host the major sporting events in the world. The 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games in Rio will close a decade of Brazil’s exposure in the realization of mega sporting events. Therefore, this test tries to answer how stadiums built for the 2014 FIFA World Cup can be reutilized effectively as a positive legacy. Through bibliographic and documentary review about legacies of mega-events, combined with financial economics our aim is do show the real possibilities of reutilization. We believe that the chances are promising, however three of the twelve arenas at risk due to the low level of local clubs.
