the modern technique and the body of defiance

Abstract

Here we objectify to contribute with a reflection about the configuration of the modern technique and some of its influences in the hegemonic conception of the body inside our occidental and contemporaneous society. Starting with clues and relevancies of the process on Modernity’s consolidation, we can identify an important change in the meaning of our technique conception, which has turned into a basic posture of extraction, domination and challenge of nature, be it external or internal to human body.
