Abstract

The Pantanal biome encompasses a diverse phytogeography, revealing heterogeneous aspects of the landscape that covers the area. The southwestern portion of the biome, composed of the Pantanal regions of Aquidauana, Miranda, and Abobral, has experienced significant changes in land use and cover, leading to transformations that trigger environmental and socioeconomic impacts. Considering its importance for life on a planetary scale, it becomes relevant to foster reflections within society on these occurrences, with schools serving as suitable environments due to their potential for disseminating information and knowledge. Using music as a pedagogical tool, a knowledge consolidation process was developed with elementary school students at Erso Gomes Municipal School in the municipality of Aquidauana-MS. The actions involved action research, field studies, and dynamic methodologies. In conclusion, the use of music proved effective as a facilitating teaching practice for both teachers and students. The results of this study have been converted into pedagogical tools, diversifying teaching practices, enhancing education about the local reality, and supporting reflection and knowledge production.
