Abstract

Sustainable land use minimizes agricultural impacts on the environment and its adoption is based on integrated analysis of morphological, physical, chemical, relief and water flow attributes. This study sought to group areas of the same level of potential and fragility in the Legacy Verdes do Cerrado, Goiás, using the System of Land Use Capacity Classes, which classifies the lands in increasing order of limitations and fragilities, from I to VIII. 13 points were evaluated for depth, texture, fertility, slope, vegetation and erosion in Oxisols, Inceptisols, Plinthic Oxisols and Lithic Entisols. Among the identified classes II, III, IV, V, VI and VIII, predominated classes III (36.6% - annual cultivation only associated with complex management practices) and VIII (32.9% - unsuitable for agriculture). The fragilities and use restrictions were related to erosive processes due to slope and soil texture, requiring medium complexity measures for prevention and mitigation.
