The project called Ballet in Focus: Formative Paths, coordinated by Professors Dr. Eleonora Motta and Ms. Rousejanny Ferreira, was awarded a grant from the Goiás State Art and Culture Fund in 2022. The aim here is to recount the teaching and research experience of preparing and developing the final work entitled Verbos que conduzem o movimento (Verbs that drive movement), which started with the question: what are the ways to learn to dance ballet? With this in mind, the axes were listed: materials, body actions, expanding the possibilities of movement, body perception and authorial research through dance improvisation, with the aim of enhancing creativity, self-awareness and respect for the different corporealities present in a group of children aged between 7 and 10 in a children's ballet class. The information that underpinned the reflections was produced through the field diary of the teacher responsible, supported by studies in the field of Art. This intertwining helped to systematize a different approach to ballet in a private dance studio in the city of Goiânia.
