'Proximity' and 'Listening'
possible relationships with children on the contemporary scene based on the experiences of Eranos Círculo de Arte

This text reflects on the characteristics that have marked the Theater Movement for Babies and Early Childhood in Brazil. It presents clues about the history of this segment, as well as groups and initiatives that have stood out in the production of shows for children of this age group and in the defense of these children's right to access the theater. The work of Eranos Círculo de Arte is analyzed using Reggio Emilia Pedagogy as theoretical support, taking into account the similarities between this approach and aspects that have been defended by the aforementioned group. It points to the need for a contemporary stage that welcomes babies, younger children and their families according to their ways of life and expression.
