Possible Perspectives for the Performing Arts

Abstract

With reference to the International Ecoperformance Film Festival, the article introduces ecoperformance and ecorporality, two concepts coined by Brazilian choreographer Maura Baiocchi and developed in collaboration with German director Wolfgang Pannek within the scope of research in performing arts carried out by Taanteatro Companhia. In addition, the article explores possible contributions of the perspectivism of the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche and the Amerindian multi-perspectivism of the Brazilian anthropologist Eduardo Viveiros de Castro to the theorization of ecoperformance as a multi-perspectivist and interspecies performative practice and discusses its role in the process of overcoming the AntropoScene, presented as the dominant paradigm of performing arts in the Anthropocene, towards the SymbioScene, as a performative paradigm of the “Symbiocene”, a concept proposed by the Australian environmental philosopher Glenn Albrecht to designate a hypothetical future era of planet Earth.

Wolfgang Pannek é diretor, performer, autor, tradutor e produtor. Integrante (1992) e codiretor (1994) da Taanteatro Companhia. M.A. (filosofia, letras e psicologia) pela FernUniversität Hagen (Alemanha). Doutorando em filosofia na Academia de Artes de Leipzig sob orientação de Marc Rölli. Diretor de produção da Mostra 95 Butoh e Teatro Pesquisa, idealizador e diretor de produção de Artaud 100 Anos, coordenador do Intercâmbio Cultural Matola-Brasil (2005) e organizador da Hans Thies Lehmann Brasil Tour 2010. Idealizador e produtor da Ocupação Artaud (2016) e da Ocupação Deleuze (2017) no Teatro Aliança Francesa de São Paulo. Atuou como coreógrafo e ator em Os Sertões, sob direção de José Celso Martinez Corrêa. Criou e dirigiu a trilogia cARTAUDgrafia (2015) sobre a vida e obra de Antonin Artaud e o espetáculo 1001 PLATÔS (2017) baseado na obra Mil Platôs de Gilles Deleuze e Félix Guattari. Idealizou e produziert o filme coletivo The Theatre and the Plague (2020). Na televisão participou como ator do seriado “fdp” (HBO Brasil), da telenovela “Além do horizonte” (TV Globo) e da série “El Presidente: Jogo da Corrupção” (Amazon Prime).
