The Figure of Mateus and the Performance Saudades Z(é):
The Magic of Actor-player and the Memories that Cross Time.

This article aims to present the folk play Boi de Reis from the community of Santa Cruz Site of the City of Vera Cruz/RN making a cut about the work of the joker "Zé de Moura" - who took over for many years the character Mateus in the play of the Boi. This joker inspired the construction of the show “Saudades Z (é)”, fruit of the Master's research entitled Saudades Z(É): Metaforizando a construção do corpo brincante developed in the UFRN Postgraduate Program in Performing Arts (2016). When talking about Mateus de Zé de Moura this research crosses the memories of a people, the folk play of the Boi de Reis and the actor-player who became contaminated with the magic of play.
