Abstract

The Free and Informed Consent Form is an instrument that informs and protects the participants of a research. However, when it comes to children, it seems to us that there are few indications about how to present the necessary information for the initial intervention. From the needs of a study done with children aged 4 to 6, from Basic Education, we looked to delineate a Free and Informed Assent Form better suited to this public. This work, which is based on Vygotsky’s studies about the relationship between the organization of mental processes and the development of language, approaches the adaptation of the Free and Informed Consent Form into a multimodal Free and Informed Assent Form, in the form of  Comics, applicable to children participating in studies in general, developed through an applied research of a qualitative approach.
