Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the definition of truth in Thomas Aquinas. In order to do so, it investigates two texts in which Aquinas examines the proper definition of truth. In addition to arguing that maintaining the exact definition in both texts is philosophically relevant, this paper presents and discusses the limits of two different reading options: Dewan's theological position and Aertsen's transcendental position

É Professor Adjunto do Curso de Filosofia no Centro de Formação de Professores (CFP) da Universidade Federal do Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB). Doutor em filosofia pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas - Unicamp (2017). De modo geral, tem interesse em pesquisas relacionadas ao pensamento filosófico medieval [sobretudo nos séculos XIII e XIV no Ocidente latino] no que diz respeito à metafísica, teoria do conhecimento e lógica. Atualmente, tem por enfoque de pesquisa a doutrina medieval dos transcendentais. Além de temas em filosofia medieval, investiga temas filosóficos na obra de Luiz Gama. Realizou pesquisa de Pós-Doutorado no Departamento de Filosofia da Unicamp.
