Abstract

In view of misguidance found in democratic States concerning
their grounding liberal model, some analysts are inclined to declare the bankrupt of liberalism, as well there are others who consider it not yet achieved. This paper aims to indicate in Locke’s political theory some intrinsic limitations of this model itself that has as result its very non-sustainability at long date.

Author Biography

Dax Moraes, UFRJ

Doutorando em Filosofia na Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). Possui mestrado em Filosofia pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) (2003), bacharelado e licenciatura em Filosofia pela mesma universidade (2008) e bacharelado em Relações Internacionais pela Universidade Estácio de Sá (Unesa) (1998). Foi bolsista do CNPq pelo período de dois anos (2001-2003). Atualmente, é Professor Assistente I no Departamento de Filosofia da Universidade do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte (UERN). Foi professor substituto na Faculdade de Educação da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (FE/UFRJ) e na Faculdade de Educação da Baixada Fluminense da Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (FEBF/UERJ), além de Professor Assistente na Faculdade de São Bento do Rio de Janeiro, onde lecionou nos cursos de gradução e de especialização em Filosofia. Tem experiência na área de Filosofia, com ênfase em História da Filosofia, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: angústia, filosofia existencial, pensamento trágico, metafísica e teoria do conhecimento. Em sua produção, também se destacam temas relativos a Ética, Filosofia Política e pensamento antigo. Além disso, leciona temas de fundamentos e filosofia da Educação desde 2005.
