Abstract: this reflective contribution takes up and rethinks the question of the essence of technique following the guiding thread of Heidegger's meditation. It discusses the essentiality of the essence and then seeks to bring to light how the historical provenance of the technique occurs in the Greek téchnē and in the Roman ars, and, furthermore, how is the way of being and of come into force of the modern technique.
