SOCIOECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF PRODECER III EFFECTIVENESS IN PEDRO AFONSO, TOCANTINS STATE, BRAZIL

This paper analyzes the impacts caused by the Nipo-Brazilian Cooperation Program for the Development of Cerrados (Prodecer), third phase, on quality of life of the municipality of Pedro Afonso, State of Tocantins, Brazil. The results indicate that Prodecer III brought great advances for the Pedro Afonso’s population income, but also contributed for the increase of urban poverty and social exclusion.
