THE LAND OWNERSHIP PROFILE IN “JOÃO DE DEUS” COLONY AND IMPLICATION TO THE PRODUCTION SYSTEM

Abstract

The work was performed based on the data collected in João de Deus rural settlement in Silvânia, Goiás State. It searches to describe and analyse the settlement implementation process, once the land ownership profiles present land plots with significant variations, from 5 to 64 hectares per family. The lots distribution procedure did not follow coherent rationality of site geophysical and agroecological specification and settled population, specially about family composition. In the process of project implementation INCRA protectionism is identified in relation, mainly, to large land owners and politicians in the region. It was analysed the implications to production, as the avoidance of improved varieties, land rent contracts, land partnership, outside pasture rentals and accentuated rural evasion by family members, who become limited about the production expansion modes.
