AN ALGORITHM FOR CORN AERATION AUTOMATIC CONTROL
Keywords:
Aeration, algorithm, process controlAbstract
A computer simulation model which predicts conditions of stored corn with aeration and no aeration in a metallic bin, with a fully perforated ventilation floor, was developed. Historical weather records from 1977 were selected to simulate corn aeration, under weather conditions of Botucatu - SP. Under all procedures simulated, the grain moisture content reduction was less than one percentage point, there was no difference in final mean grain temperature and the average proportion of allowable storage time elapsed was moderate, depriving them as comparative parameters. Then the number of hours of fan operation was the prevalent parameter on formulation of control algorithm, based on criterion of fan operation permitted only when the dry bulb temperature of the ambient air is less than the maximum admissible dry bulb temperature previously determined by software.
KEY-WORDS: Aeration; algorithm; process control.
