NEW OCCURRENCE OF Bentonia longicornis ACHTERBERG, 1992 (HYMENOPTERA, BRACONIDAE, ORGILINAE) TO BRAZIL

Abstract

The objective of the study was to report the first occurrence of the parasitoid Bentonia longicornis in Itumbiara, GO. The material here studied was collected in areas of pasture and native wood in Itumbiara, GO, using yellow buckets of water in period of January until December of 1998. Weekly collections were done using 10 yellow water traps, 5 placed at the pastures and 5 in the nearby native vegetation. These traps were made of yellow buckets measuring about 30 cm in diameter, 12 cm in high and filled with 2 liters of trap water, 2 ml of detergent and 2 ml of formaldehyde. During the year 1998, 61 specimen of B. longicornis were collected.
