CHEMICAL CONTROL OF THE WHITE FLY Bemisia argentifolli ON EGGPLANT

The efficiency of three dosages of the physiologic insecticide was evaluated. Hit 98 and a dose of NNI-750 D-SC compared to Evolution and Actara in the control of the white fly (Bemisia argentifolli) on eggplant. The experiment was carried out at the Department of Horticulture of the School of Agronomy of the Federal University of Goiás, in the period of April to July of 1999 in a completely randomized block design with five treatments and four repetitions. The applied treatments were the following ones: 1) NNI - 750 D - SC in the dose of 100 ml/l00 liters of water; 2) HIT 98 in the dosages of 10, 15 and 20 g/100 liters of water; 3) Evolution 970 PL in the dosage of 75 g/ l00 liters of water; 4) Actara in the dosage of 15 g/l00 liters of water and 5) control. The obtained results showed that, except for Evolution, all the other treatments controlled the mentioned plague until seventeen days after the application. The efficiency varied from 85 to 96% of control.
