Syagrus oleracea, a native palm of the Brazilian Savanna region, produce a bitter hearth very appreciated by Brazilian people. In Goiás State, there are 4,500 ha with this crop. The main objective of this work was to set and evaluate “in vivo” a germoplasm bank of S. oleracea in the Anápolis Experimental Station. Twenty fruit in a single plant per county were collected in 120 counties in Goiás State. The collected fruits were weighted and set to germinate. Each 15 days the number of germinated seeds was obtained. The medium weight of seeds was 33.81 +/- 3.2g and one ton of seeds contained 34,510 units. The germination period began from 46 to 60 days after sowing and at 120 days after sowing, 79.2% of the progenies were begun to germinate. 12.5% of those progenies did not germinate until 165 days after sowing.
