DENSITY OF CATTLE RAW MILK PRODUCED IN THE GOIÁS STATE
Abstract
The density mean value of raw cow’s milk was studied from 1,049 samples collected in fifty litters brasses from Goiânia’s region. The samples were obtained during the morning and evening milkings. That way, one established the mean regional values, which are useful because the implications they show on the nutritional and industrial production and because they contribute to the improvement of the control quality measurements. The found values, using the Thermolactodensimeter, were: morning, l.032±0.001g/ml (1.030 - 1.034); evening, 1.031±0.001g/ml (1.029 - 1.033); mean general value, l.032±0.001g/ml (1.030 - 1.034). The greater frequency of the density values, remained between the limits 1.031 and 1.032/ml performing 71.6% of the total samples. The density showed minor value during the summer and the breed of the animals also affected the mean value of the milk density. The statistics analyses did not reveal any significant statistical difference when it was studied the lactation time effect and the annual variation.
