Abstract

The present work was done in the annexes of Zootechny Department Veterinary School of the Federal University of Goiás, in Goiânia, from January to April, 1986. The objective was to determine the chemical composition of andropogon grass (Andropogon gayanus var. bisquamulatus cv. Planaltina) at different cutting ages (40, 54, 68 and 82 days) after uniformization, aiming hay. A randomized block design was adapted with 5 replications to study the chemical composition of the hay. Average contests of crude protein, crude fiber, matter mineral, calcium and phosphorus were determined. The information obtained in this work permitted to conclude that only at age of 82 days of regrow it doesn’t permit a haymaking production with chemical composition hay.
