Abstract

An experiment was conducted in three farms in Rio Verde, State of Goiás, Brazil, to study the interrelationships between level of mineral in soil, forage and animal tissues. Soil phosphorus was deficient in all samples. A large portion of forage samples were phosphorus deficient. Forage Ca and Mg were normal. The ashed bone, phosphorus level varied from 13.51 to 14.53%. The amount of calcium in the bone samples varied from 30.52 to 37.2%, while the percentage of magnesium ash in the bone varied from 0.35 to 0.53%.
