MINERAL COMPOSITION OF SOILS, FORAGES AND ANIMAL TISSUE IN THE RIO VERDE REGION, GOIÁS, BRAZIL: IRON AND MANGANESE
Abstract
A study to determine mineral contents in cattle was conducted in three farms of Rio Verde, State of Goiás, Brazil. Soil, forage and liver samples were collected from each farm (cows and calves). Forage Mn contents were adequate for beef cattle. High levels in Fe on one farm was considered toxic for the grazing cattle. Liver levels in Fe were high in all samples.
