AGE AT FIRST CALVING OF CATTLE POLLED TABAPUÃ AND POLLED NELORE

Abstract

Age at first calving was studied in 136 dams: 97 Polled Tabapuã and 39 Polled Nelore in experimental farm of Itauçú, Goiás. The average age at first calving was 36,8 ± 3,0 months to Polled Tabapuã and 35,8 ± 1,9 months to cows Polled Nelore. There was no significant difference (P > 0,05) between two breeds. The most calving was between 35 and 37 months of age in cows.
