EVALUATION OF AGRONOMIC POTENCIAL FOR SOME CULTIVARS OF SACCHARINE SORGHUM (Sorghum bicolor)
Abstract
It was realized, during the 1981/82 period, in field conditions, at School of Agronomy, Universidade Federal de Goiás, a National Test of Saccharine Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor), formed by ten cultivars supplied by government and private institutions that produce and sell sorghum seeds in Brazil. Hybrid cultivars and varieties showed similar behavior. Hybrid BR-602 presented a higher yield of hysks without straw (24.44 t/ha), statistically equal to variety BR-501 (26.97 t/ha) which presented the higher weight of juice (13.51 t/ha).
