MATHEMATICAL DEVELOPMENT OF AN EQUATION FOR THE ESTIMATE OF FIELD CAPACITY

This work had as objective the mathematical development of an equation for the estimate of the field capacity with base in the process of drainage of water in the profile of the soil after the saturation. For the verification of the proposed mathematical development, an experiment of constituted field of a board of 25 m2 was set up in a latossolo vermelho-escuro. After the saturation of the profile of the soil, it was made the accolmpaniment of internal drainage in the layers of 0-30 cm, 30-60 cm, 60-90 cm and 90-120 cm. The proposed mathematical development was shown appropriate in the estimate of the moisture in the field capacity, allowing like this its use in models of simulation of the movement of water in the soil, since the potential equation that describes the process of drainage of water in the profile presents a good adjustment to the experimental data.
