FRUCTOSE AND CITRIC ACID LEVELS IN SEMEN OF Bos indicus (NELORE BREED)
Abstract
Fructose and citric acid rates were determined in semen samples from 25 Bos indicus bulls (Nelore breed). The results were: 1) the 30 months old Nelore bulls had fructose values of 252.69 mg/100 ml of semen and citric acid of 166.0 mg/l00 ml of semen; 2) the 4-7 year old Nelore bulls showed fructose values of 259.05 mg/l00 ml of semen and citric acid of 165,57/100 ml of semen. Significant differences (P < 0,05) were not determined among both groups values of fructose and citric acid, concluding also that alimentary factor had no interference with obtained rates.
