Abstract

A trial to control the cotton leafworm A. argillacea was realized at EMGOPA experimental field, using the new growth regulator named TEFLURON (1-(3,5 dicloro 2-3 diflurophenyl)-3(2.6 diflurobenzpyl) urea) with dosages of 5.0, 7.5 and 15.0 grams of active ingredient by hectare, confronted with DIFLUBENZURON, with dosage of 15.0 g.i.a./ha; DELTAMETRIN, with dosage of 2.5 g.i.a./ha; ENDOSULFAN, with dosage of 525.0 g.i.a./ha and untreated check. The test was made in a randomized block design with 4 replicates per treatment. In each plot there were 10 rows with length of 15.0 meters. Estimations were done in pre-treatment and at 5, 9 and 15 days after applications. Results obtained by this test permited to conclude that TEFLURON at experimented dosages, presented similarity of control to the other used compounds in different estimations realized, with control average superior to 88.0%.
