Abstract

The present work was made in two slaughterhouses without Federal Inspection in Goiânia using a sample of 1,120 adult swines, from many regions of the Goiás State. During the experiment were slaughtered much more females than males. The meat animals showed mean income of carcass superior to the mixed, its carcass height had the greater frequency in the class interval of 70.0 to 55.5 Kg, greater mean number of udder pair, greater carcass length and smaller lard density when related to the others types. Lard type swines showed greater frequency of slaughter, greater carcass mean income, carcass height had the greater frequency in the class interval of 70.0 to 55.5 Kg, mean number of udder pair, greater than five. So they were in agreement with the established standard to the type. They also had smaller carcass length and greater mean density of lard. The mixed swines excepting the aspect: ";carcass weight frequency";, where they showed superior, they revealed to the studied characteristics, intermediary values between the meat and the lard types.
