NUMBER OF PLAQUETS IN CROSSBRED HOLSTEIN-ZEBU BOVINES IN THE GOIÁS STATE

Abstract

Blood samples of crossbreed zebu from five counties of a specific region in the state of Goiás were analyzed. In every county three farms were taken at random, being each category of animals taken in proportion to the total number of the farm. Blood was collected following the technique described by JANNINI & JANNINI FILHO (1975), and the thrombocytes counting done by Fonio's method described by FERREIRA NETO et alii (1977). The authors observed an increase in the thrombocyte number per cubic millimeter of blood with the increase in the animals age, not observed by the authors consulted.
