CONSIDERATIONS ON THE MEASURED AND CALCULATED POTENTIAL EVAPOTRANSPIRATION IN THE CITY OF GOIÂNIA AND SURROUNDINGS

Abstract

In this paper the author compared the potential evapotranspiration calculated by methods of THORNTHWAITE, CAMARGO, HOLDRIDGE, BLANEY-CRIDDLE, GRASSI-CHRISTIANSEN and GARCIA-LOPEZ, with the direct measurement from the evapotranspirometer of THORNTHWAITE & MATHER, in Goiânia (Goiás-Brazil) and surrounding counties. All the methods studied presented a significant correlation when compared with the measured data. The correlation coefficients were: THORNTHWAITE, r = 0.96, CAMARGO, r = 0.94, HOLDRIDGE, r = 0.94, BLANEY-CRIDDLE, r = 0.91, GRASSI-CHRISTIANSEN, r = 0.70, GARCIA-LOPEZ, r = 0.62.
