ACTINOMYCOTIC PNEUMOTHORAX IN DOGS - A CASE STUDY

Abstract

The present paper reports a case of piohemotorax in a dog, whose diagnosis revealed Actinomicosis. The granulomatous tissue was located on the pericardial sac, visceral and parietal pleurae resulting adherence between the lung lobes. The macroscopical aspect presented a cauliflower-like growth having a whitish surface with dark red stains. 4.6 l. of pinkish liquid was found inside the thoraxical cavity. This is the first case described in the State of Goiás.
