AGRO-ECOLOGICAL SUBDIVISION AND PRODUCTIVE ADAPTATION OF MEDIUM CYCLE SOYBEAN GENOTYPES TO THE GOIÁS STATE-BRAZIL

In this paper, it was evaluated soybean germplasm test in the central Brazilian savannah, in Goiás State, aiming to identify key-locations to establish genetic improvement programs, as well as to establish agronomical zones (mega-environments) for cultivar recommendation. It was identified genetic material showing broad and specific adaptation using data from regional yield trials. Twenty-eight lines were evaluated at seven locations. The statistical analysis was based on the AMMI model (additive main effects and multiplicative interactions). Four agronomic zones were identified: (Rio Verde and Anápolis 1), (Mineiros and Senador Canedo 1), (Anápolis 2 and Senador Canedo 2) and Chapadão do Céu. The first group, with a lower contribution to the genotype by environment interaction, is appropriated for conducting the earlier phases of the programs. There was a lack of genotypes adapted to Chapadão do Céu, Anápolis 2 and Senador Canedo 1, the most contrasting locations, mainly to Chapadão do Céu, next-to-last in the productivity ranking, and Senador Canedo 1, the most productive environment. Regarding genotypes, Pintado, Conquista and BRAS97-72, with a small interaction, showed broad adaptation. Generally, the genotypes showed adaptation to median environments. The line GOBR96-004186, while also expressing this pattern, was the genotype most adapted to the Chapadão do Céu location.
KEY-WORDS: GE interaction; environmental stratification; AMMI analysis; agronomical zoning; mega-environments.
