ABSTRACT: This article presents a practical nursing assistance realized at the surgical center of a University Hospital. It aimed to prevent and decrease the stress during the biliary vesicle and abdominal hernia surgical process. Supported by the Betty Neumann’s theory and the Paulo Freire’s educational and healthy concepts, different approaches were used, including presurgical orientation, entertainment activities and group dynamics. Patients were found to need more information about their on situation and yet, it was found that a more humanistic treatment including pedagogic approaches and entertainment activities could help on the recovering process. This work made us believe in the importance of the attention gave by the nursery team for the hospitalized people. KEY WORDS: Perioperative Nursing; Stress, Health Education.Downloads
