Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the articulation of work with health promotion, with the perspective of closing the gap between the practices in worker’s health and the health promotion focus. We discuss the historical trajectory of health promotion and worker’s health policy in Brazil, delineating its difficulties, limitations, and perspectives. Next, we analyze the different views of various authors that propose new approaches and perspectives in the relation between worker’s health and work. We conclude that the articulation between Health promotion and health is not only possible but extremely important in the implementation of a health policy that considers the worker as an active subject, as well as to respond to questions related to current practices in worker’s health in Brazil.

Key words: Health promotion; Health policy; Worker’s health.
