Abstract

Oral narratives are one of the qualitative methods of investigation. This article aimed at conducting a bibliographic review concerning oral narratives and their use in psychiatric nursing since it is understood that such method focuses on the individual himself as part of the narrative. The use of oral narratives in psychiatric nursing has been increasingly observed and some authors have worked on the perspective that by knowing the subject's history, we are able to understand the meanings that he attributes to the process of becoming ill and its implications as well as other questions pertaining to psychiatric nursing.
