Abstract

The group is an explored phenomenon by its importance to the human being life and, thus, it is essential for any professional to know about its dynamics and functioning. In Health’s area the development of this knowledge is urgent, given the emphasis in the collective work and also in the scope of the health policies. The purpose of this paper is to present five essential tracks to understanding the group dynamics process and development, based on the group coordination formation process through the perspective of the Brazilian Society of Psychotherapy, Psychodrama and Group Dynamics (SOBRAP) and the authors lived experience in group management. The first track is anchored in the cultural – social – historical Vygotsky´s presuppositions; the second n is based on the contemporary education principles; the third starts from the intersection of the psychoanalytic, psychodrama and group dynamic approaches; the fourth track is based on competence model’s; and the fifth indicates the group coordinator praxis based in the theoretical and existential laboratory methodology. Thus, the coordinator which has support to understand the group functioning process can better support its development and the member’s capability for changes and self-development.
