Abstract

Qualitative research, descriptive exploratory held in an emergency in order to identify the perception of the team of health professionals on the elements of its work process (object, instruments, purpose and product). Data were obtained from the open questionnaire applied to 28 professionals and analyzed on the basis of content that allowed the construction of five categories that articulate the perceptions of many professionals on the object of work in health; the instruments of work; the finality of work at an emergency; the final product of work in health at an emergency unit and the specificities of the different professionals at an emergency unit. We perceived in this research, the need to establish reflections moments about the work process aiming quality of assistance. The divided comprehension and the problems to apprehend the complexity of that process become obstacles on the search of integrality and humanization of health assistance.
