Violence lived by adolescents in the street situation in the view of the shelter professional caregivers

Because of the violence relevance and the particular role it plays once it limits the citizenship exercise of the adolescents in the street situation as well as it makes their health vulnerable, the study objective was to understand the violence problematic they lived in the view of the shelter professional caregivers. This is a qualitative research of the descriptive type, whose data was produced through interviews with the caregivers of a public shelter for adolescents in Rio de Janeiro in 2008. The speeches were interpreted according to the content analysis, resulting in four categories that shows the professionals view about the violence types lived by the adolescents: collective violence, youth violence, family violence and gender violence. In conclusion, the shelter professional's carers understand that the violence problematic lived by the adolescents in the street situation in a wide view and show the inter-relations and concurrence of several violence types, characterizing the violence complexity that cross the adolescents´ lives.
