The women's group that lives and coexist with HIV/AIDS: a report of experience

Abstract

The rate of women infected by HIV and non contaminated women cares the HIV patients is increasing. In the care assistance process, group activities have been demonstrated as sensible strategy to the needs of this group. In this article we sought to relate a case in a continuous activity group of women who live/coexisting with HIV/AIDS. The case related describes the movement of a group of support for obstacles confrontation after knowing about infection, based in group dynamics theoretical frame. The HIV patients support to the ones who coexist with syndrome’s and vice-versa is the differential in the therapeutic potential of the group, that brings learning to the heath’s professionals whom need to get know-how to deal in this situation that each more time become a reality in the health services. The group reveals as efficient technology that qualifies the care, because promotes the empowerment of the HIV patients and their families.
