Actions in cardiovascular health: evaluation of risk indicators in scholars

Studies about risk indicators cardiovascular in scholars are importants. The objective of this study was to associate systolic blood pressure (SAP), diastolic blood pressure (DAP) with anthropometric measurement values, sedentarism, smoking and drinking of scholars who presented altered arterial pressure in three evaluations. Follow-up study, performed from 2004 to 2006, at a public school in Fortaleza. Four hundred eighty subjects between six and eighteen years old were evaluated of risk indicators and blood pressure. Scholars that presented, in a previous selection, blood pressure percentiles above of the normal were accompanied in more two evaluations (85 children and teenagers). In children SAP values were correlated positive and significantly with age and height. DAP values were correlated with hip circumference, weight and height. In teenagers SAP and DAP values were correlated with height and. This study confirms importance of to evaluate and follow risk indicators and blood pressure in scholars.
