This integrative literature review aimed at identifying the evidence available in the national scientific literature regarding the theme of rehabilitation groups for women experiencing mastectomy. The theoretical referential used was evidence-based practice, with the following guiding question: what is the thematic of the publications regarding rehabilitation groups for women with breast cancer? The databases accessed were: LILACS, BDENF and MEDLINE, with the controlled descriptors “mastectomy”, “self-help groups”, “nursing in rehabilitation” and “services for rehabilitation”. Five studies were selected. Results showed that the inclusion of women with breast cancer in groups substantially assists their integral rehabilitation; in other words, physically, psychically and socially. Despite not providing scientific evidence considered to be strong, the study allowed the identification of a set of variables that can help in the approach to this public health issue, thus improving the quality of the care provided to women experiencing mastectomy.
