ABSTRACT
The objective of the present study was to identify the evidence of nurses using the radio as a health education strategy. This is an integrative literature review using the MEDLINE and LILACS databases as well as Cidsaúde (Literature regarding healthy cities/municipalities), limited to articles published between 2000 and 2011, which addressed the nurses’ use of the radio as a health education strategy. Nine selected articles were assessed according to their study methodology and evidence level. The results showed that the radio is a resource capable of establishing spaces for dialogue with the community based on their cultural realities, in addition to stimulating their perceptions and behaviors. In conclusion, the radio permits to innovate the nursing care actions, in addition to promoting and interactive space between common knowledge and the logic of technical-scientific knowledge.
