Quality of life of elderly people with urinary incontinence

Household survey, transversal and observational study aimed to describe the quality of life of older people with urinary incontinence. Participated 243 elderly who urinary incontinence self-reported. Was conducted a descriptive analysis and t-Student test (p <0.05). Most were female, 70?80 years old, widow, and no schooling and individual monthly income of a minimum wage. Quality of life measured by WHOQOL-BREF and WHOQOL-OLD module showed higher scores, both sexes, the social relationships domain and death and dying facet and less on the physical domain and social participation in female and autonomy facets in the male. The higher score in men in all domains e facets evaluated, although no significant difference. Health services should develop actions aimed at reducing the impact of this disease on quality of life of elderly.
