Urinary incontinence is defined as an involuntary loss of urine. The objectives of the present study were to measure and compare the quality of life and sexual function of women with and without urinary incontinence. Interviews were performed with 70 women with and without urinary incontinence. Data collection was performed using the following instruments: WHOQOL-BREF, KHQ and FSFI. Descriptive analysis and paired Student’s t test (p<0.05) were performed. Quality of life measured by the WHOQOL–BREF showed that incontinent women had a lower mean score (S=57.14) compared to continent women (S=71.42). In the evaluation of sexual function, group GI had a smaller total mean score (S=17.17) compared to group GC (S= 24.20). In conclusion, in both the quality of life and the sexual function analyses, the incontinent group had the lowest scores, which showed the negative effect of urinary incontinence on these women’s lives.
