Exploratory-descriptive research conducted in a surgical clinic of a teaching hospital, with the goal of developing affirmatives of nursing diagnoses, outcomes and interventions for patients submitted to prostatectomy, using the seven axis model of ICNP® and validate the affirmative built by participating nurses who work in that area. Ninety seven affirmatives of nursing diagnostics/outcomes, which were submitted to the process of validation by nurses, obtaining 38 affirmatives as result (CI ? 0.80; 39,2%). Following these steps we constructed 259 statements of nursing interventions, which were also submitted to the validation process, having reached 210 (CI ? 0.80). It is believed that these affirmatives could represent a relevant instrument for improvement of nursing care, once the nursing diagnoses show the real needs of the hospitalized patients, and supply support for nurse to identify the interventions of nursing necessary for assistance of the clients.
