The objective of this article is to discuss the pioneering work of the geographer-thinker Manuel Correia de Andrade (MCdeA) from the perspective of decolonial thought. Bibliographical research in works selected by the authors of this paper constituted the methodological choice for carrying out this discussion, intending to highligh fundamental principles through which MCdeA's thought contributed to reinforcing the development of the theory and practice of decoloniality. As a general conclusion, we state that, despite not having been an overtly decolonial thinker, he notably contributed to the development of the decolonial approach from its own region of existence.
