THE PERIODS OF APARECIDA DE GOIÂNIA: OF THE SHAPE OF EMBRYO UNTIL THE NEW FUNCTIONS IN THE FRAGMENTED SPACE

Abstract

This article intend to present some reflections concerning the changes occurred in the urban space of Aparecida de Goiânia. On the basis of a proposal of historical and space analysis, this work proposes to clarify as this city underwent changes in a reduced period. Aparecida de Goiânia started in the rural interior of Goiás in 1922 through religions intentions of the Catholic Church. In the period of 1970 until 1980, Aparecida de Goiânia had accelerated urban growth and without planning connected to urban expansion of Goiânia. Aparecida de Goiânia became a outskirt and a complex city, integrating into Goiânia, playing functions connected to Goiânia. Actually Aparecida de Goiânia has a dynamic economic articulation, with fragmented, multiple and unequal urban structure, characterized for new centers, specific territoriality and social poverty. The debate about the historical and space development of this municipality in Metropolitan Region of Goiânia stress the necessity to build deep reflections of the metropolitan matter occurred in Goiânia, that occur as of the all for the parts as of the local for the global.
