Droughts are climate phenomena that occur in different parts of the world. However, when in vulnerable locations, they can have negative impacts. This study aims to integrate different indicators (agricultural, environmental, educational, and technological) for the creation of a vulnerability index to drought events. Methodological procedures consist of selecting indicators, calculating vulnerability index and defining vulnerability categories. Most municipalities in the semiarid region of Bahia presented “critical vulnerability”, “very high vulnerability” and “high vulnerability”. In conclusion, the population’s resilience and supportability are incredibly low, which favors the occurrence of the drought disaster in the region.
