Urbanization and Urban system in Goiás between the 1940s and 1980s

Abstract

In Goiás, the genesis of the urban network, in the sense understood by Corrêa (1994), is linked to structural changes related to the economic reintegration of the state with the southeast region of Brazil, which occurred mainly from the first decades of the 20th century . These changes promoted a new dynamic for the urbanization process and consequently influenced the structuring of the state urban network. In this sense, the objective of this text, based on bibliographical research and on the survey of secondary data, is to present a synthesis of aspects of urbanization and the structuring of the urban network in the state of Goiás between the 1950s and 1980s.
